Author Guidelines

Everything you need to know to create successful stories for our platform

Content Standards

We welcome stories that:

Promote positive values like empathy, courage, and friendship
Celebrate diversity and inclusion
Encourage imagination and creativity
Are appropriate for children aged 3-12

We do not accept stories with violence, inappropriate language, or content that promotes stereotypes or discrimination.

Formatting Requirements

Please follow these formatting guidelines:

Submit manuscripts in .docx or .pdf format
Word count: 500-1500 words for standard stories
Use clear paragraph breaks and chapter divisions
Mark personalization opportunities with [CHILD_NAME] and other variables

Our editorial team will help adapt your story for our personalization engine if needed.

Image Guidelines

For authors providing their own illustrations:

Submit images in high-resolution .jpg or .png format (300 DPI minimum)
Illustrations should be in full color and child-friendly
Include space for text integration
Consider areas where character customization may be needed

Don't have illustrations? We can pair you with our in-house illustrators for an additional revenue share.

Review Process

What to expect during review:

Initial screening within 2 weeks of submission
Detailed editorial feedback within 4-6 weeks

Final decision within 8 weeks of initial submission
